Plain English summary: We collect only what we need to run the AI Lab. We never sell your data. We never show you ads. Students' data is handled with extra care. If you're under 18, a parent or school administrator manages your account.
1. Who We Are
MeetInsights ("we", "us", "our") operates the MeetInsights AI Lab platform at meetinsights.in. We are incorporated in India and incubated at AIC-BHU, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. For any privacy questions, contact us at nagendra@meetinsights.in
2. What We Collect
Account information: Name, email address, phone number (for OTP login), and school name (if accessing via a school access code).
Usage data: Which modules you completed, reflection answers you voluntarily submit, time spent on experiments, and device/browser type. This helps us improve the platform.
Payment data: When you subscribe, payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not store your card details. We only retain the Razorpay order ID, payment ID, and plan type for billing records.
Model data: AI models you train in the Lab run entirely in your browser using TensorFlow.js. We do not upload, store, or access the images, sounds, or data you use during experiments.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and improve the AI Lab platform
- To process your subscription and send receipts
- To send you product updates (you can opt out at any time)
- To generate anonymous, aggregated usage statistics
- To comply with applicable Indian laws and regulations
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties. Ever.
4. Children's Privacy (Under 18)
Many of our users are school students under 18. We comply with applicable Indian laws on children's data. School accounts are administered by the school institution. Individual student accounts require a parent or guardian to provide consent during registration. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information from minors beyond what is necessary to operate the service.
5. Data Sharing
We share data only with service providers necessary to operate the platform: Razorpay (payments), AWS (hosting and storage), and Google Fonts/CDN providers. All providers are contractually bound to handle data securely and only for the purpose we specify.
We will disclose data if required by Indian law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users.
6. Data Storage & Security
Data is stored on AWS servers in the ap-south-1 (Mumbai) region. We use HTTPS encryption for all data in transit and AES-256 encryption for sensitive data at rest. Access to production databases is restricted to authorised personnel only.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, message us on email nagendra@meetinsights.in. We will respond within 7 working days. For account deletion, all associated data is removed within 30 days of request.
8. Cookies
We use only essential session cookies required to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking.
9. Changes to This Policy
We will notify users of material changes via email or an in-app banner at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
10. Governing Law
This policy is governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
